Valladolid
In 2025 Mundus Novus came to Valladolid as part of the city’s major institutional programme marking Hispanic Day. The historic church of Las Francesas, a space of extraordinary heritage value, provided an incomparable setting that raised the exhibition to an aesthetic and cultural dimension unprecedented in its history.
The show brought together an exceptional set of bibliographic holdings, historical cartography, first editions and reproductions of works essential to understanding the encounter between Europe and the Americas and its profound cultural consequences.
Its extraordinary public reception confirmed the success of a singular exhibition project, demonstrating the great interest aroused by the written and cartographic testimonies of that momentous encounter between two worlds, and reaffirming the Pérez Trespalacios Collection’s mission to bring this historical legacy to a wide audience.
