Salamanca
In 2026 Mundus Novus shared the San Eloy Hall in Salamanca with Alma de América, as part of the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the School of Salamanca. The exhibition took up the challenge of adapting its historical and cultural narrative to a celebration of particular intellectual significance, in a city of extraordinary university prestige that demanded the highest academic rigour.
For this occasion, the usual selection of bibliographic treasures, historical cartography and pre-Columbian codices was enriched with a carefully chosen representation of grammars of the indigenous languages of the Americas, establishing a revealing dialogue with a period facsimile of Antonio de Nebrija’s Gramática.
This singular contribution made it possible to explore in greater depth the encounter between the linguistic traditions of the two worlds, enriching the scientific and educational content of Mundus Novus and consolidating its ability to renew and broaden its narrative at each new venue.
