Santillana del Mar

In 2021, thanks to the determined support of the Fundación Caja Cantabria, the Pérez Trespalacios Collection took a significant step forward with the exhibition Alma de América. Pre-Columbian Art and Myth, presented at the Caja Cantabria Palace in Santillana del Mar. This show marked the beginning of an uninterrupted exhibition journey that would take the collection to new venues.

The exhibition was also a turning point in its museographic conception: the pieces were elevated to the status of works of art through an ambitious investment in display equipment, with more than four tonnes of glass for the display cases and carefully designed lighting to highlight the singularity and aesthetic power of each object.
